    Overview

Welcome to Pairings Canada. The terms “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to Pairings Canada. Pairings Canada operates this website, including all related information, content, features, tools, products, and services, to provide customers with an online shopping, gifting, order support, and order fulfillment experience (the “Services”). pairings.ca is powered by Shopify, which enables us to provide the Services to you.

These Terms of Service, together with any policies referenced herein, describe your rights and responsibilities when you access, browse, use, place an order through, or otherwise interact with the Services.

Please read these Terms of Service carefully. They include important information about your legal rights and responsibilities, including product availability, delivery limitations, alcohol-related requirements, warranty disclaimers, and limitations of liability.

By visiting, interacting with, using, or placing an order through the Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these Terms of Service or our Privacy Policy, you should not access or use the Services.

Section 1 - Access and Account

By agreeing to these Terms of Service, you represent that you are at least the age of majority in your applicable jurisdiction. If you purchase any product containing alcohol or another restricted item, you also represent that you meet all legal age and eligibility requirements applicable to the purchase, receipt, and delivery of that product.

To use the Services, including browsing this website, placing an order, using an order tracking tool, using a support widget, or designing a custom wine gift, you may be asked to provide certain information, including your name, email address, billing information, payment information, shipping information, recipient information, delivery instructions, and gift-message details.

You represent and warrant that all information you provide through the Services is accurate, current, complete, and provided with the necessary authorization. If you provide recipient information, including a recipient’s name, address, phone number, company information, delivery instructions, or gift-message details, you represent that you have the right to provide that information for order fulfillment and delivery purposes.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of any account credentials, if applicable, and for all activity that occurs under your account.

    Section 2 - Our Products

Pairings Canada offers wine and gourmet gifts, wine and food pairings, custom wine gifts, and related gifting products. We make reasonable efforts to describe and display our products accurately. However, product colours, appearance, packaging, presentation, contents, and scale may vary from how they appear on your screen due to device settings, photography, availability, and preparation requirements.

Product descriptions, images, prices, contents, packaging, availability, delivery eligibility, and promotions are subject to change at any time without notice at our discretion.

Because our products may include wine, alcohol, food, gourmet items, seasonal items, perishable or availability-sensitive items, specialty goods, or third-party branded products, substitutions may be made when necessary. When substitutions are made, we aim to maintain the overall balance, quality, value, presentation, and intended gift experience of the selected product.

Product images are representative of the style, presentation, and type of gift offered. Exact wines, gourmet items, packaging elements, and presentation details may vary depending on availability, delivery destination, season, applicable requirements, and fulfillment considerations.

Section 3 - Custom Wine Gifts and Gift Messages

Where available, customers may provide information to help design or customize a wine gift, including occasion, recipient type, flavour preferences, wine preferences, gourmet pairing preferences, budget direction, delivery timing, and message details. Customization requests are subject to product availability, delivery eligibility, preparation requirements, applicable law, and our ability to fulfill the request.

Custom wine gifts are guided by the information provided by the customer, but Pairings Canada retains discretion over final product selection, substitutions, packaging, presentation, and fulfillment decisions. Exact wines or gourmet items may not be guaranteed unless expressly confirmed in writing by Pairings Canada.

If you include a personalized gift message, greeting, or note with an order, you are responsible for ensuring that the content is lawful, appropriate, accurate, and does not infringe the rights of any third party. We reserve the right to decline, edit, omit, or refuse gift-message content that we determine to be unlawful, offensive, abusive, misleading, or otherwise inappropriate.

    Section 4 - Orders

When you place an order through the Services, you are making an offer to purchase. Pairings Canada reserves the right to accept or decline your order for any reason at its discretion, including product availability, delivery eligibility, payment issues, suspected fraud, alcohol-related restrictions, incorrect information, or other fulfillment concerns.

Your order is not accepted until Pairings Canada confirms acceptance. We must receive and process your payment before your order is accepted and fulfilled.

Please review your order carefully before submitting it, including product selection, recipient information, delivery address, phone number, delivery instructions, gift message, delivery date or timing request, and billing information. Pairings Canada may be unable to accommodate cancellation, correction, or modification requests after an order is accepted or once preparation, customization, fulfillment, or delivery coordination has begun.

We may contact you if additional information is needed to process, prepare, verify, or deliver an order. Failure to provide requested information may delay or prevent fulfillment.

Section 5 - Prices and Billing

Prices, discounts, and promotions are subject to change without notice. Unless otherwise expressly stated, posted prices do not include taxes, shipping, delivery fees, handling fees, service fees, customs, import charges, or other applicable charges.

You agree to provide current, complete, and accurate billing and payment information. By submitting payment information, you represent that you are authorized to use the payment method provided.

We reserve the right to correct pricing errors, product information, promotional errors, or availability errors at any time. If an order is affected by an error, we may cancel the order, contact you for instructions, or provide a refund where appropriate.

Section 6 - Shipping and Delivery

Pairings Canada provides delivery for eligible wine and gourmet gifts across Canada where available. Delivery options, timing, availability, and eligibility may vary by destination, product availability, courier or delivery partner capacity, weather, seasonal volume, applicable law, and other operational factors.

Delivery dates, delivery windows, shipping times, transit times, and same-day delivery references, where applicable, are estimates only and are not guaranteed unless expressly confirmed in writing by Pairings Canada.

We are not liable for shipping or delivery delays caused by carriers, couriers, delivery partners, weather, traffic, recipient unavailability, incorrect or incomplete delivery information, building access issues, restricted access locations, failed delivery attempts, customs or regulatory processing, force majeure events, or other circumstances outside our reasonable control.

The customer is responsible for providing complete and accurate delivery information. This may include the recipient’s full name, full delivery address, phone number, company name, building name, unit or suite number, buzzer code, delivery instructions, and any relevant access details. Incorrect or incomplete information may result in delay, failed delivery, additional fees, or inability to complete the order.

Where delivery involves alcohol or other restricted items, delivery may require legal age verification, adult signature, recipient availability, or compliance with other applicable delivery requirements. Delivery may be refused if these requirements are not met.

Section 7 - Alcohol and Restricted Products

Some products or add-ons may include wine, alcohol, or other restricted items where permitted by applicable law. Alcohol availability depends on recipient location, product availability, delivery rules, legal eligibility, and applicable federal, provincial, territorial, and local requirements.

By purchasing any product containing alcohol, you represent that you and the recipient are of legal drinking age in the applicable jurisdiction and that the order complies with all applicable laws. You also agree not to purchase alcohol for, or arrange delivery to, any person who is under the legal drinking age or otherwise not legally permitted to receive alcohol.

Alcohol deliveries may require adult signature, age verification, recipient availability, or other delivery requirements. If age or eligibility requirements cannot be verified, delivery may be refused or delayed, and additional fees or restrictions may apply.

Pairings Canada reserves the right to cancel, refuse, modify, or restrict any order containing alcohol or regulated products if we determine that the order may not comply with applicable law, delivery requirements, product availability, or internal policies.

    Section 8 - Perishable and Availability-Sensitive Products

Some products may include perishable, temperature-sensitive, seasonal, or availability-sensitive items. Customers and recipients are responsible for retrieving, receiving, storing, and handling delivered products appropriately after delivery.

We are not responsible for product deterioration, spoilage, damage, or loss resulting from recipient unavailability, incorrect delivery information, delayed retrieval after delivery, refusal of delivery, weather exposure after delivery, or failure to follow storage or handling requirements.

Section 9 - Substitutions and Product Availability

Product availability may vary due to seasonality, supply conditions, regulatory restrictions, shipping limitations, vendor availability, or other factors. Pairings Canada may substitute wines, gourmet items, packaging, or presentation elements when necessary.

When substitutions are made, we aim to maintain the overall balance, quality, value, presentation, and intended gift experience. Substitutions may be selected to preserve flavour direction, pairing structure, recipient experience, and product value.

Exact wines, vintages, brands, food items, packaging, or accessories may not be guaranteed unless expressly confirmed in writing by Pairings Canada.

Section 10 - Returns, Refunds, Cancellations, and Order Issues

Returns, refunds, cancellations, replacements, or credits may be limited for wine, alcohol, food, perishable, customized, prepared, shipped, or delivered products. Requests are reviewed based on order status, product type, preparation stage, delivery status, applicable law, and the circumstances of the request.

Cancellation requests may not be available once an order has been accepted, prepared, customized, fulfilled, transferred to a courier or delivery partner, or delivered.

If there is an issue with an order, you must contact us through the support options listed on this website as soon as reasonably possible and provide your order details, a description of the issue, and any supporting information requested. We reserve the right to determine the appropriate resolution, if any, at our discretion and subject to applicable law.

    Section 11 - Intellectual Property

The Services, including trademarks, trade names, text, displays, images, graphics, product descriptions, photographs, videos, audio, page layouts, design, selection, arrangement, and other website content, are owned by Pairings Canada, its affiliates, partners, service providers, or licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, modify, publish, display, transmit, create derivative works from, sell, exploit, or use any part of the Services or website content without our prior written consent, except as permitted by applicable law.

    Section 12 - Optional Tools

You may be provided with access to optional tools, widgets, applications, or services offered by third parties, including support widgets, order tracking tools, payment tools, checkout tools, delivery tools, or other integrations. We may not monitor, control, or have full authority over these third-party tools.

You acknowledge and agree that access to such tools is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties, representations, or conditions of any kind, except as expressly required by applicable law. Your use of optional third-party tools is at your own discretion and risk.

    Section 13 - Third-Party Links

The Services may contain content, tools, applications, materials, or hyperlinks provided or operated by third parties. We are not responsible for examining, evaluating, or controlling third-party materials, websites, tools, or services.

We are not liable for any harm, damages, loss, or issues related to your use of third-party websites, tools, applications, products, services, or resources. You should review the applicable third-party terms and policies before using third-party services.

Section 14 - Relationship with Shopify

pairings.ca is powered by Shopify, which enables us to provide the Services to you. However, any sales and purchases you make through this website are made directly with Pairings Canada unless expressly stated otherwise.

Shopify may provide technology, checkout, payment, hosting, analytics, fraud prevention, or other ecommerce services related to the Services. Certain personal information may be processed by Shopify in accordance with applicable Shopify terms and privacy practices.

    Section 15 - Privacy Policy

All personal information collected through the Services is subject to our Privacy Policy. This may include buyer information, recipient information, delivery information, gift-message information, payment-related information, support communications, and order tracking information.

By using the Services, you acknowledge that your personal information may be collected, used, disclosed, stored, and processed as described in our Privacy Policy.

    Section 16 - Feedback

If you submit ideas, suggestions, feedback, reviews, proposals, plans, photographs, comments, or other content to us, you grant Pairings Canada a perpetual, worldwide, sublicensable, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, modify, publish, distribute, display, and otherwise exploit such feedback in any medium for any lawful purpose, including commercial purposes, subject to applicable law.

You represent that you have all rights necessary to provide such feedback and that the feedback does not violate the rights of any third party.

Section 17 - Errors, Inaccuracies and Omissions

Occasionally there may be information on or in the Services that contains typographical errors, inaccuracies, omissions, pricing errors, product availability errors, delivery errors, product description errors, promotional errors, or other inaccuracies.

We reserve the right to correct errors, inaccuracies, or omissions; to change or update information; to refuse, modify, or cancel orders; and to correct pricing or availability at any time without prior notice, including after an order has been submitted, subject to applicable law.

    Section 18 - Prohibited Uses

You may access and use the Services for lawful purposes only. You may not access or use the Services for unlawful, malicious, infringing, abusive, fraudulent, misleading, or unauthorized purposes.

Without limiting the foregoing, you agree not to:

    Section 19 - Termination

We may terminate this agreement or your access to the Services, or any part of the Services, at any time without notice if we determine that you have violated these Terms, violated applicable law, provided false or incomplete information, engaged in fraudulent activity, misused the Services, or otherwise created risk for Pairings Canada, customers, recipients, service providers, or others.

The obligations and liabilities incurred before termination shall survive termination for all purposes.

Section 20 - Disclaimer of Warranties

The Services and products offered through the Services are provided “as is” and “as available” except as expressly stated by Pairings Canada or required by applicable law.

We do not guarantee that the Services will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, error-free, accurate, or available at all times. You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Pairings Canada, Shopify, and our affiliates, partners, officers, directors, employees, agents, contractors, licensors, service providers, fulfillment providers, couriers, delivery partners, and suppliers from any claim, demand, damages, loss, liability, cost, or expense, including reasonable legal fees, arising out of or related to your breach of these Terms, your misuse of the Services, your violation of applicable law, your violation of third-party rights, your submission of inaccurate or unauthorized information, or your improper purchase or attempted purchase of alcohol or restricted products.

    Section 23 - Severability

If any provision of these Terms is determined to be unlawful, void, or unenforceable, that provision shall be enforceable to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, and the unenforceable portion shall be deemed severed from these Terms. The remaining provisions shall remain valid and enforceable.

Section 24 - Waiver; Entire Agreement

The failure by Pairings Canada to exercise or enforce any right or provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of such right or provision.

These Terms, together with any policies or operating rules posted by us on this website, constitute the entire agreement between you and Pairings Canada regarding the Services and supersede any prior or contemporaneous agreements, communications, or proposals, whether oral or written, between you and us.

    ABOUT PAIRINGS

Wine Gifts Built Around Experience, Not Guesswork

Founded in 2014, Pairings was created around a simple idea: wine gifts should feel complete. By combining wine expertise, thoughtful food pairings, and years of gifting experience, we help customers create wine gifts that are designed to be enjoyed together, not assembled at random.

    WHY WE EXIST

A Better Way To Send Wine

A bottle of wine can be appreciated on its own, but the best gifting experiences happen when wine, food, and presentation work together. Pairings exists to help customers move beyond simple wine purchases and create gifts that feel thoughtful, balanced, and ready to enjoy from the moment they arrive.

    SOMMELIER GUIDED

    Built With Real-World Wine Expertise

Our partner sommelier actively conducts tastings in restaurant and hospitality environments, helping evaluate how wines perform with food in real-world settings. Experience across wine regions in California, Ontario, Italy, and France helps inform the structure, balance, and compatibility of our selections.

    PAIRING PHILOSOPHY

    What Makes A Pairing Work

Great pairings are built on balance. Rich foods require wines with enough structure to stand beside them. Chocolate often benefits from wines with complementary sweetness. Lighter foods need wines that refresh rather than overwhelm. Every pairing is assembled with flavour, texture, and overall experience in mind.

    EXPERIENCE

More Than A Decade Of Gifting Experience

Since 2014, we have helped customers celebrate occasions, thank clients, recognize milestones, and send thoughtful gifts across Canada. Our experience in gifting influences every decision—from wine selection to presentation and delivery.

    OUR PROCESS

    Designed To Work Together

Every pairing follows a structured approach. We consider flavour intensity, sweetness, texture, presentation, and occasion before products are combined. The goal is simple: create a gift that feels complete rather than a collection of unrelated items.
